Volunteering

Chi Omega:

Make-a-Wish Foundation- In my sorority we worked with Make-a-Wish Foundation to grant a wish each year to children with life threatening medical conditions. We raised money throughout the year and donated this money to Make-A-Wish in order to grant a wish of our choosing.

The Center- My sorority would also work with The Center which was a local assistant living for adults with disabilities.  As a group we would go spend time with the residents and help them with what they needed.

Coaching:

While I was a senior and junior in high school I was the volunteer pole vault coach for a local middle school. I also volunteered as a coach for my neighborhood swim team during high school. For two years after high school I was the volunteer pole vault coach at Ulrich Intermediate School, another school in the area.

Service:

For many years I have volunteered in the Deaf community all around the Houston area. I would help out at different events that were being held.  I have participated in many service opportunities with my church.  By helping out in many ways with those in need and holding many different volunteer positions with the church.  In the spring of 2015 I was in a service group at my university with the Alternative Breaks program.  With this group we volunteered with the Habitat for Humanity and helping out around the community.  The trip I took with this group was to San Diego, California were we spent a week helping those in need.  We feed the homeless, helped build homes with Habitat for Humanity, and worked at the Habitat for Humanity Restore.

Leadership:

I am currently part of the Utah Valley University service council. I am one of the program directors for the Alternative Spring Break trip that will be going to serve at an outdoor science camp in California. We will be camp councilors and be helping out with anything else that the camp needs.
